LATAM flight LA1443 is a nonstop from Bogotá (BOG) to Mariscal Sucre (UIO). Published schedules list a 21:15 departure from El Dorado and a 23:00 arrival in Quito — 11:00pm local. A public status board for 2 October 2026 showed that same 11:00pm scheduled arrival, with the aircraft in at 10:55pm. Other recent days that week were on the same clock. The flight is only about an hour and 45 minutes, which is why people underestimate it. You board in the evening and you are in Ecuador at 11. Check latam.com before you go. A short hop still moves when the airline retimes the bank.

Eleven o’clock is late enough that the city is not “right there,” and early enough that you may feel you can sort a taxi yourself. That feeling is the mistake.

A short flight, a full arrival

LA1443 is international. You still clear immigration and you still wait for bags. The evening Bogotá bank shares the hall with other late South American arrivals, so “it is only a one-hour flight” does not mean an empty immigration line. Have your passport in your hand. If you checked a bag, the belt is the real end of the journey, not the jet bridge.

Because the flight is short, people often travel with more energy than a Houston or Madrid passenger — and then spend it negotiating a fare they did not need to negotiate. The exit is where that happens. Ignore anyone who offers a car before you have seen a name sign. The version of this that is already arranged is in meet and greet at UIO.

If your Avianca ticket is the later Bogotá departure, read AV125, typically around 11:40pm, or AV8396, typically around 1:15am. Those are different flights. Do not tell a driver you are on “the Bogotá flight” without the number.

Ruta Viva after 11

The airport is in Tababela. Ruta Viva is the highway toward Cumbayá and Quito. Around 11pm, once you are actually in the car, the drive into Quito is commonly about 35–45 minutes. Cumbayá is often 25–35 minutes because it is on the valley side of the climb. Published daytime ranges for a Quito address run closer to 40–60 minutes, so a friend who did the trip at 3pm is describing a different road. Wyndham Quito Airport is the nearby hotel, typically 10–15 minutes, and it is a separate fare from a city drop.

First night at this altitude: walk, do not jog the corridor, and let the driver load the bags. You are not proving anything by standing in a taxi line.

Pay for the arrival, not for the lowest number

LA1443 lands when street taxis are still around and when they are no longer a dense, obvious queue. That is an awkward middle. You can spend twenty minutes comparing offers, or you can walk to a car whose price was set in USD before you left Bogotá. The prepaid SUV is intentionally not the cheapest curb quote. It is a licensed, airport-authorized driver, a flat rate, and flight tracking if the Bogotá inbound is late. Uber-style pickup is uneven here. Why the license matters is the safety point, not a slogan.

$50 is Wyndham Quito Airport. $75 is anywhere in Cumbayá. $100 is anywhere in Quito. Maximum 4 passengers. Book at least three days ahead. Email is book@uiotransfers.com.

Enter LA1443, not a guess. The rates board has the three products, and booking is the same form. Save the confirmation offline. For the hour in general, see arriving at Quito airport late and getting from the airport into the city.
